Ask Yourself: “Is what I’m about to do, now, going to lead me toward my goal?” If you answer “no” and if you are truthful with yourself, you will begin to change and direct your behavior toward your goals. (You will be surprised to see how many times your present behavior is not aligned with your goals.)
Too often we rationalize our attitudes and behaviors, those that are inconsistent with attaining our goals, not realizing the eventual consequence of such folly. We rationalize that we don’t have enough time; everyone’s doing it this way, or it’s not such a big deal. Compound this over many decisions and a little compromise soon becomes a lot of compromise; pretty soon you find yourself completely off course.
